HERS Testing & Energy Auditing

Verifying Existing Conditions

Allows us to receive credits for making energy efficient upgrades to an existing home which can later be used to get an addition or alteration into compliance with the new more stringent energy code.

Quality Insulation Installation

Process consisting of three visits to a job-site throughout the building air-sealing and insulation install. With proper installation, insulation will reach its maximum potential.

Envelope Leakage Testing

Allows us to test your home in its "natural state" with all of the windows and doors closed. We pressurize the house to gauge how much air leakage exists within the building envelope.

Verified Refrigerant Recharge

An air conditioning system that has too much or not enough refrigerant will not run efficiently and the additional wear on the systems parts will reduce the lifespan of the unit.

Low-leakage Air Handler

Similar to a regular duct test we pressurize your duct system and measure the amount of leakage using one of our manometers. However, for this process the HVAC system has been designed by the contractor to achieve even less leakage than the normal 5%.

Fan Efficacy Testing Watts/CFM

Designed for new HVAC systems, this tests how many watts of electricity the blower fan uses per CFM. The standard is 0.45 Watts/CFM, but if the system is designed well the power consumption can become as low as 0.25 Watts/CFM.
